Clip any job posting into your workspace
Install a bookmarklet once. On any careers page, one click grabs the posting — title, link, and text — and lands it in your workspace as the job description, ready for the match checker and the builder. The clip runs in your browser; no posting is stored server-side.
Resume workflow
Install the clipper (once)
- Copy the code below.
- Create a new bookmark in your browser — name it “Clip to RoleSharp”.
- Paste the code as the bookmark’s URL and save.
- On any job posting, click the bookmark. The posting lands in your workspace.
Bookmarklet code
javascript:(function(){var t=document.title||'';var u=location.href;var s=(window.getSelection?String(window.getSelection()):'')||document.body.innerText||'';s=s.replace(/[ \t]+/g,' ').replace(/\n{3,}/g,'\n\n').trim().slice(0,8000);var p=btoa(unescape(encodeURIComponent(JSON.stringify({t:t,u:u,s:s}))));window.open('https://rolesharp.com/build?clip='+encodeURIComponent(p),'_blank');})();The clipper reads only the page you run it on, in your own browser. Nothing is uploaded until you choose to generate with it — and job-posting text is processed like any text you paste.
How the clip lands
- The bookmarklet grabs the page title, the posting URL, and the visible text (or just your selection, if you have one) — capped at 8,000 characters.
- It opens /build with the posting encoded in the link, and the workspace puts it in the job-description slot.
- From there: run the match checker against your resume, then tailor with the builder — same draft, no copy-pasting between tabs.
