Free ATS Resume Checker
Score your resume the way Applicant Tracking Systems do — in seconds, for free. Get a score out of 100, the keywords you're missing, the bullets that read weak, and a priority fix list. No sign-up, no card.
What the checker tells you
- ATS score out of 100. How well your resume parses and matches the job — the number recruiters' software effectively sees.
- Missing keywords. The terms from the job description your resume doesn't contain, ranked by how often they appear in the posting.
- Weak bullets. Lines that start with "responsible for" or "helped" and lack numbers — the exact bullets a recruiter skims past.
- Structure and formatting. Whether the layout is single-column, parseable, and using standard section headings ATS expects.
- A priority fix list. The three to five changes that will move the score the most, in order.
Why ATS matters
Roughly 75% of resumes are filtered out by Applicant Tracking Systems before a human ever reads them — usually for fixable reasons: missing keywords, unparseable formatting, or weak bullets. The checker shows you exactly which of those is holding your resume back and what to change. A score under 60 means you're likely being filtered; above 80 means you're in the pile a recruiter actually reads.
Frequently asked questions
- What is an ATS resume checker?
- An ATS (Applicant Tracking System) checker scans your resume the way hiring software does — parsing the text, checking for keywords from the job description, and flagging formatting that bots can't read. RoleSharp gives you a score out of 100 plus a plain-English list of what to fix.
- Is the ATS checker free?
- Yes — completely free, no sign-up. Paste your resume and the job description and get a score, missing keywords, and weak-bullet fixes instantly. Unlimited checks on the free plan.
- What does the ATS score mean?
- It's a 0–100 score based on keyword match, formatting parseability, bullet strength, and structure. Above 80 is strong; below 60 usually means the resume is being filtered out before a human sees it. The breakdown shows exactly which area is costing you points.
- Can I check my resume against a specific job?
- Yes — paste the job description alongside your resume and the checker scores how well your resume matches that specific opening, including which keywords are missing.
- Does it work for resumes outside the US?
- Yes. The checker asks for your country and adjusts for local formatting conventions — UK, Canada, India, Germany, UAE, Australia, and 200+ more.
